Jefferson Junior High Former Faculty Reunion and Armstrong Award Announcement
Our foundation was proud to host an event for the former faculty of Jefferson Junior High School. At that event the graduating class from 1984 was able to present to one of their former teachers the establishment of an endowed scholarship in the name of Geraine Armstrong who was an English teacher with more than 30 years of experience. The ward will contribute funds to the college savings plan of the most gifted English student at Jefferson Academy.

Through a partnership with Emmanuel Baptist Church and Freddie Mac, we will refurbish a computer lab/homework center East of the River in the Ward 8 section of the city. Our foundation has received a matching grant from Freddie Mac in support of this endeavor. This center serves as a resource for the entire Woodland community. It accommodates Elementary, Middle, and High school students. We are looking for volunteers to assist with the physical install of equipment and painting the lab. In the future, additional volunteers will be needed to support the homework center and assist in tutoring. If you are a high school student in need of volunteer hours, this will be an excellent way to give back!
